There is no support in PVFS v1.x for 2.6.x Linux kernels.  If you are
planning on porting it yourself, you can download the source code at
ftp://ftp.parl.clemson.edu/pub/pvfs/pvfs-kernel-1.6.3-linux-2.4.tgz

If a 2.6 kernel is a requirement, you may want to take a look at PVFS2.
