'no route to host' indicates a problem with your pvfs servers.  what
does pvfs-ping tell you?  It should tell you that one or more servers
are down.  On those machines, what does the IOD log look like (look at
files called /tmp/iolog.xxxxx ).  

Once you are sure the servers are running, then we can start debugging
the kernel stuff.
