Hi,
The magic number is a value placed in packets to give servers some
indication that the packet is actually one meant for it. There is a
separate value that indicates the release number, and is used to detect
mismatches between versions.
Has this just started happening on a volume that has been in use for some
time, or have you just installed and are seeing this problem?
Where do you get that message? On the client I assume? Please check the
iolog files on your I/O servers for errors too; I'm guessing there will be
something useful in there.
Regards,
Rob
