I have been looking for information on how to upgrade from pvfs-1.5.8 to
pvfs-1.6.2.  Do I have to wipe out everything and start fresh or can the
configuration files be left alone as well as the data on the /pvfs partition?

I have downloaded the files, done the configure and make, but not a
make install.
