[PVFS-users] VFS interface hanging

My problem is this:
I have a 12 server pvfs filesystem, which was working with 2 iod servers per node.
In order to investigate some instabilities, I reduced the iod's per server
to 1, and restarted pvfs in the usual way.

Iod's and pvfsd's are running on all appropriate nodes, and mgr/pvfsd
is running on my head node, which is my meta-data server.

I can mount the filesystem, and df it, but ls doesn't work properly
and just sits there (I can ctrl-c out of it). pvfs-ping works correctly,
as do the other pvfs-* commands.

I suspect what's going is that I have cruft leftover from the previous
incarnation of the filesystem, and this is causing what aggravation I'm
getting.

Is there any way to manually, or otherwise, clean up the filesystem ?

Thanks,

john c.

ps.

I'm using the 2.4.18-27.7.xsmp kernel (RH 7.3), and the 1.6.2 release
of pvfs, on x86.
