Hello,

in the past couple of weeks we experienced some PVFS-induced crashes on
ia64 using PVFS 1.6.2. I uploaded some kernel oops debug info to
http://www.lrz-muenchen.de/~cbi/pvfsoops/ - it seems the problem is
caused by a call to memset respectively __copy_user (see
ksymoops.out2.gz). Has someone seen similar problems?

Actually we also tried PVFS 1.6.3pre1 but after deleting a file the
IODs reproducibly did not release the space on disk (on ia32 and ia64)
so while the file was gone, the filesystem space was still being used.
Possibly a bug?

Thanks for any kind of input on these issues!

Greeting from Munich,

  Christoph
