Hi,
I trying to setup PVFS 1.6.3 onto ROCKS OS 3.2.0. I had followed throught
the quick start in
http://www.parl.clemson.edu/pvfs/quick.html . As I am installing a cluster,
I had skipped step number 3 and start on step number 4.
1)
At step 4.5 where in the guide it had a line as follow:
[root at head /root]# /usr/local/bin/pvfs-ping -h head -f /pvfs-meta
so i had also typed in #/usr/local/bin/pvfs-ping -h head -f /pvfs-meta, it
return the following:
mgr (frontend-0:3000) is responding.
iod 0 (10.1.1.1:7000) is responding.
pvfs-ping: unable to connect to iod at 10.255.255.254:7000.
iod 1 (10.255.255.254:7000) is down.
pvfs file system /pvfs-meta has issues.
Is there anything wrong with the system? (I had only 1 node attached to the
frontend node.)
2)
In step 4.6, there is a step indicating that:
"Now edit this file so that it contains the following:
head:/pvfs-meta /mnt/pvfs pvfs port=3000 0 0
This tells clients to look for a PVFS file system mounted on the /mnt/pvfs
directory. The metadata is being served from the head machine's /pvfs-meta
directory. "
Where is the file to be edited? Or what shall i do?
3)
What does the following command do:
#pvfs-ping -h frontend-0 -f /pvfs-meta -p 3000
