Yes, there is something wrong.  Did you start an iod on the machine
10.255.255.254?  Can you ping 10.255.255.254 from your head node?  What is
the contents of your .iodtab file?

What do you mean that you only had "1 node attached to the frontent node"?

This file should be on all clients.
