Let's say i've got a large partition "/scratch", and i want pvfs data
to go into /scratch/pvfs-data.  Make the directory, create an iod.conf
file pointing to /scratch/pvfs-data, and then when you start the iod
it will create those 101 subdirectories if they do not yet exist.
