Hello!
The PVFS2 development team is pleased to announce pvfs2 1.4.0. We've
slipped a bit on our bi-monthly schedule, but we've put the extra time
to good use.
Notable changes in this release:
- A new optimization we call SIO (small io): small I/O requests will
be piggybacked along with the initial communication between server
and client. It's like MPI eager mode, but for I/O.
- A new atribute cache, built upon a generic caching infrastructure.
There are now a lot more tuning knobs for cache behavior.
- Many bug fixes, especially for zero-fill and truncate
A more complete summary can be found in the ChangeLog. This release
changes the network protocol: when upgrading, you'll have to ensure
your clients and servers are syncronized.
This release represents 119 changesets over 10 weeks. Diffstat
reports: 161 files changed, 14013 insertions(+), 4071 deletions(-)
