benchmark does indeed look pretty thourough. Thanks for sharing.

did this, and did a few other parameters as well.

didn't get that. I'm running with three pvfs2 servers from CVS and
mpich2 from CVS. It all seems to be working ok for me here.
What other variables could be in play? Are you sure you've got ROMIO
building against the correct pvfs2 installation?
Are you using MPICH2 from HEAD or your datatype io branch?
