Murali pointed out that if you do all these shm commands as root once,
you can then do them as regular users. I'll add this to the faq: if
you are running pvfs2-server as a non-root user and get "resource
temporarily unavailable", run as root once, then run as a non-root
user.
Since I had no problems on my workstation (where I have no root
access), perhaps lain's restrictive permissions on SysV shared memory
is not common?
