This ppc64 box.. what distribution is it? Are you building with a
bi-arch toolchain, or one that is pure 64 bit?
Since PVFS_handle isn't getting the right type, I suspect a
configure-time issue. If you are using a biarch toolchain, did you
pass the '-m64' option to CFLAGS and LDFLAGS?
