Kyle,

Up until the error, all of the bmi_mx IO requests succeed. Right  
before the error, however, is a call to BMI_mx_get_info(). I am  
curious as to what this call is. Please apply the attached patch (in  
$PVFS2/src/io/bmi/bmi_mx, run patch -p0 < bmi_mx-get_info.patch),  
make && make install, and then recompile the app. Send the output as  
before.

Also, can you send me the app source? It may be faster if I can run  
it here and add some print statements.
