Yes those patches 'Just Work' :)
Specifically, I've copied and verified approx 24Gb using 3 clients/IO
servers.  All use TCP over std-ethernet (not IPoIB).

Some of the detail:

Kernel:

 - the pvfs 2.6.3 / kernel 2.6.21 patch
 - the current patch
 - the the previous slab patch
