[Pvfs2-users] how much fault tolerance do I get with pvfs2?

The FAQ touch on this question, but not in enough detail for me.  How
much fault tolerance do I have if I have 5 machines running metadata,
IO, and client, all for the same pvfs2 fs?

How much tolerance do I have if one or two or three of those machines
go down?  Does pvfs2 go on working, or will it fail?  If it goes on
working, will there be a great performance hit?
