[Pvfs2-users] Can I use pvfs2 for general-purpose?

Hello
I am going to build a data center for file archiving, digital, video
surveillance, streaming media using some open source parallel systems. I did
some investigation on Lustre, PVFS2.

Lustre white paper mentions Lustre can be used for general-purpose such as
rich media. however, Lustre requires patch server kernel. this is not what I
want.

so I want to consider the pvfs2. I know pvfs2 is very excellent for parallel
computing. If I want to use it for file archiving, digital, video
survelliance, streaming media, not sure if some pvfs2 characteristics (such
as stateless, no lock, no client cache, no posix compliant) impact these
applications?

Thanks
Sparking
