Thanks a LOT, I'm very pleased.
Did some other testing:
Installed the pvfs2-client part on the fat client and it does scale well.
rsync throughput is 114Mb/s
pvfs2-cp throughput is 165Gb/s
and even over pvfs2fuse does 165Gb/s
